Q3 2025: Mirus Matters

September 26, 2025

We hope you all enjoyed a terrific summer and are leaning into the crisp mornings and evenings of Fall! We want to provide a brief update regarding Mirus and our plans for the remainder of 2025.

Replacing Maily Wirks

While we are excited for Maily and her next chapter, as she gets married and moves abroad, we are diligently searching for her replacement, and that will not be easy! Rest assured, we are not going to settle for just anyone and are seeking a person who is diligent, warm, caring, and consistent like Maily has been over the past 3 ½ years for you and for Mirus Planning.

We are fortunate to have a team at Osaic Wealth that has been supporting us with administrative roles in our office for the past three years (My Virtual Assistant). Many of you have probably heard from that team when paperwork-related matters need to be handled.

Bottom line, the departure of Maily is a double-edged sword. We are happy for her; sad for us. As one of our clients stated, “love wins.”

ConnectED

Kyle and I recently returned from the Osaic Wealth National Conference (ConnectED) in San Antonio, Texas. Besides enjoying good food and warm, humid weather, we also had a terrific conference with fellow financial planners and advisors from around the country, where we learned and collaborated on matters to improve the wealth management experience for our teams and ultimately for our clients. We look forward to implementing many of the ideas discussed as we work towards an ever-improving experience for you.

Carl Richards

I had the pleasure of interviewing Carl Richards about his new book, which is set to be released later in October, titled Your Money: Reimagining Wealth in Simple Sketches. I’ve gotten to know Carl over the years through a study group he has led since 2020, where we share ideas on how to serve clients in better and evolving ways, given the advent of technology, AI, and the increasing need for more human connection.

Fall, 2025

Maily’s last day is October 17th (three weeks from the time of this writing). As noted earlier, a significant priority will be to find an outstanding replacement for her and subsequently train that person on how we treat you here at Mirus.

Additionally, Kyle and I will conduct client reviews with clients concerned about tax planning matters, charitable giving, and potential plan adjustments between now and the end of the year—time-sensitive issues that need to be addressed by year's end.

We are still working to coordinate a webinar with a concierge medicine physician, as we have noted an interest in understanding exactly what such services entail from clients. If done in the 4th quarter, it will likely occur in late November or early December. Stay tuned.

Predictions

Our prediction for 2025, like every year, was correct. We will be surprised.

Tariffs, inflation/interest rates, a slowing economy, relatively strong financial markets (so far), and political turmoil (in the US and overseas) provide a continuous cocktail of uncertainty.

We will not be surprised if the remainder of the year is bumpy (volatile) for financial markets and the economy.

Thank you for trusting us with your financial future and for introducing us to others who you think might benefit from our guidance.

Enjoy the upcoming Fall season!
