As I reflect on these past few months, I'm excited to share how our ongoing work together is creating a meaningful impact, both for you and our wider community. Let me walk you through what we've been up to and what's ahead.
Learning Together | I've taken some time this quarter to thoughtfully select speakers who I believe will bring you particularly valuable insights. This fall, we're planning two sessions I think you'll find fascinating – one exploring the world of concierge medicine, and another offering a fresh perspective on our economic landscape. I'll share more details about these speakers and times soon, but I believe both sessions will provide you with practical ideas and themes to consider for your journey.
Living Well By Design | Many of you joined us for our May workshops at the Heathman Hotel in Kirkland, where we explored ways to design your ideal retirement journey while avoiding common pitfalls that can derail your plans. In these workshops, we discuss:
- Making the shift from saving to spending using our time-tested "bucket" strategy.
- Creating resilience in your plan for life's "what-ifs" – whether you live to 100, face unexpected health challenges, or need to protect those you love.
- Making smart choices about taxes, healthcare costs, and the best time to begin your Social Security benefits.
- Building a fulfilling life beyond dollars and cents – focusing on your health, discovering meaningful ways to spend your time, and nurturing the relationships that matter most.
I look forward to continuing these conversations with you through our quarterly workshops and our periodic one-on-one visits. You can learn more about upcoming workshops at https://www.mirusplanning.com/retirement-abundance-seminars.
Your Enhanced Digital Home | We've refreshed our website with you in mind, making it easier than ever to:
- Access your important financial information through our secure Client Center
- Explore insights and ideas through our thoughtfully curated blog
- Connect with our team securely whenever you need us
- Stay informed about opportunities to learn and grow together
Advocating For Your Future | As I continue to serve as Chair for Osaic Wealth's National Advisory Board, I continually think about how we can enhance your experience. This role allows me to:
- Have a seat at the table with the Osaic Executive Team and provide input and guidance, through the lens of an advisor, on how Osaic can approach continuous improvement to serve clients and advisors.
- Help to shape the evolution of financial services to better meet your evolving and changing needs as a consumer.
- Represent 11,000 other advisors who work with Osaic Wealth and their clients to make a difference in the industry and serve clients better.
Your thoughts and experiences help guide my contributions at these meetings – please continue sharing your thoughts, as they are put to good use for everyone.
Protecting Your Legacy | I recently participated in a Washington State Bar Association panel focused on Financial Planning for Seniors, where I spoke with elder law and estate planning attorneys about ways to enhance our approaches to serving clients as they age. Items discussed included:
- Aligning legal and financial strategies through collaboration and open communication of a coordinated team (CPAs, attorneys, financial planners, etc).
- Addressing the unique issues that arise during the “go-go years,” “slow-go years,” and “no-go years.”
- Taking a holistic view of aging, including legal matters, taxes, health care matters, family dynamics, and the role a financial planner often plays in all situations.
Making a Difference Together | I am continually inspired by how our community has come together to support Alzheimer's research. Your generosity is making a real difference:
- $130,526 raised to date for critical research over the past 10 years.
- The Osaic Foundation recently contributed $1,500 to our Mirus Cares annual cause.
I hope you'll consider joining our team for a walk on October 4th at Seattle Center. This issue affects many of the families we serve, including my own, and we always enjoy making the 1.5-mile walk around Seattle Center part of our fall calendar with friends and family. https://www.mirusplanning.com/events/2025-walk-to-end-alzheimers
