This past weekend, I was so fortunate and pleased to complete the 29029 Event at Snowbasin Utah with my oldest son, Isaac (20). https://29029everesting.com/products/snowbasin-2025
For those unfamiliar, 29029 is an endurance event where about 300 or so people choose to hike the equivalent vertical gain of Mount Everest: 29,029 feet. We hiked over 29.9 miles up hill on trails, a total of 13 ascents up the ski hill (each totaling 2,310 ft and 2.3 miles). Each participant has 36 hours to complete their 13 ascents. The event started at 6 AM on Friday morning, August 1st and we completed our Everest in 33 hours and 27 minutes at 3:27 PM on Saturday afternoon, August 2nd.

Sharing this experience with Isaac made it most meaningful. We pushed each other, encouraged each other, and crossed the finish line together. It was a reminder of what we're capable of when we commit, when we prepare, and when we show up for each other.
Feeling grateful, exhausted, and inspired.
