Why Life Transitions?

Life transitions became a focus of our practice back in 2002 when unfortunately, I faced the loss of my dad. He was sixty-three years old and died from an unexpected stroke, and my mother was an unexpected widow. At the exact same time, I was involved in a divorce case for a client of mine who was going through very similar ups and downs emotionally, and I realized that unlike I had been doing since 1992, essentially working with all sorts of different folks on all sorts of different financial planning matters, this was an area where we could actually make a big difference, helping people work through their emotional ups and downs, their loss, their grief, and hold their hand essentially and help them get through those tough times. And at the time, back in 2002, I didn’t know anybody else that was focusing their attention and time on that and that was area where we really thought we could make a difference.
